Artist’s Statement:
This image captures a dynamic architectural moment in Passau, where bold color and shifting lines guide the experience of the space. The coral façade commands attention, rising above the textured cobblestones, while the yellow wall curves into the frame, leading the eye to the beckoning stairs. The steps and sloping path are a visual invitation to follow, up and around the corner.
There is also the hum of life embedded in the scene. The lantern reaches outward, prepared to quide the way. The windows watch the outside, and illuminate the stories inside.. The surfaces—stone, plaster, and metal—carry the marks of time, but also of constant use—marking a place where lives are happeing.
The composition thrives on contrast: warm against cool, curve against angle, ascent against enclosure. The alley becomes an active corridor rather than a hidden corner—an invitation to discover what lies ahead.
