This day did not arrive in the usual way—it struggled against a stubborn night.  Relentless, it smoldered, then burned into being, igniting the sky in slow waves of fire. The forest stood in futile resistance, its dark forms holding the last of night as long as they could.

The lake carried this transformation, stretching the light downward, diluting it, as if the sky alone could not contain the intensity. In that reflection, the boundary between above and below dissolved—Fire touched water, and darkness conceded.

This was a moment suspended between forces—illumination and shadow, awakening and memory. It felt ancient, as though this same struggle has played out since the beginning, as part of the never ending story.
