Artist’s Statement
There are evenings in Dublin when the sky doesn’t simply fade—it ignites. In this moment, the city seems to pause beneath a canopy of fire and shadow, as if aware it is being briefly transformed. The River Liffey becomes a quiet collaborator, drawing the light downward and stretching it into something almost tangible—liquid color, shifting and alive.
The bridge stands as both passage and witness, connecting not just one bank to another, but past to present. Georgian facades, softened by the glow of streetlamps, hold centuries of stories within their walls. And yet, the sky insists on the now—on the fleeting brilliance that cannot be held, only experienced.
This piece reflects the dual nature of Dublin itself: grounded in history, yet constantly renewed by light, weather, and movement. It invites the viewer to linger in that in-between space—where the day exhales, the night inhales, and everything feels briefly illuminated with possibility.
