Artist’s Statement:

The shoreline becomes a place of pause rather than passage. A small gathering of gulls settles into the hush of early fog, their forms softened by distance and atmosphere. There is no urgency here—only the subtle exchange of presence, gesture, and spacing. The muted palette allows the eye to rest, while the layered silhouettes of water, trees, and distant land dissolve into one another. I was drawn to the way the scene resists spectacle, offering instead a study in restraint, where even the faintest movement—a turned head, an open beak—feels amplified within the quiet.

On the other hand, occasionally, my quirky sense of humor kicks in and sees animals mimicking human behavior.  (I'm told the fancy word for this is anthropomorphism)  This image struck me as a morning sales meeting where the boss is trying to motivate.  The interns in the front row are paying rapt attention.  The old timers in the back are bored and looking for the donuts.  I'm told laughing out is rude.
