At the farthest reach of Ireland, where land gives way to the Atlantic, Mizen Head has long been a threshold—both a farewell and a return. For on the sea, it was the first promise of Europe… or the last glimpse of home.

Artist’s Statement:
There is something older than history in this place—but also something deeply human. For centuries, sailors scanning the horizon would have fixed their gaze here, searching for the faint outline of land. To some, these cliffs were salvation—the first sight of Europe after long passage. To others, they were the sight of home, slipping slowly into the distance.
Renderied classic Black and White, it leans into both truths. The sea below churns with a restless intelligence, tracing pale runes drawn across dark water, marking the unseen paths of those who came, or went. The cliffs stand unmoved, witnesses to countless crossings—of trade, of exile, of return.
The sky hangs heavy, brooding, or remembering. In black and white, the present dissolves, and what remains is elemental and eternal: a threshold between worlds, where myth and lived experience meet. Here, the old gods may linger—but so too do the echoes of human journeys, carried on the wind and tide.
