Title: The Crystal Tree

Subtitle: Where winter dreams drift between fury and grace

Reference: Snow-covered tree in fog, minimalist winter landscape, monochrome nature photography, ethereal snowfall scene, frost art

Artist’s Statement:

In our North Country paradise, winter is both artist and storyteller—painting with snow, ice, and frost, then reshaping its own work with wind and time. Some storms arrive with a ferocity that can feel almost mythic, blurring vision and bending the world.  Others are nearly poetic, where frost glistens and light refracts differently.

This image exists in that in-between state, where the season feels less like weather and more like a dream. The tree emerges and recedes at once, its form held together by delicate accumulations of snow, while the surrounding fog erases certainty. There is a surreal quality here—a sense that the landscape is not entirely fixed, but drifting, as though it might dissolve or reassemble at any moment.

The duality is compelling: winter as both chaos and calm, nightmare and lullaby. In this frame, the storm has passed, but it has left a gift—transforming something ordinary into something otherworldly. It is transient and will be soon taken by sun or wind, but the North Country winter always has another story to tell.

Summary:

A fleeting winter vision where storm and stillness meet, dissolving the world into something both dreamlike and deeply real.

Themes: Duality of Nature, Winter Dreamscape, Stillness After Storm, Surreal Atmosphere, Fragility and Strength, Quiet Transformation

Placement: Ideal for contemplative spaces, modern interiors, or rooms designed for rest and reflection. Its soft, immersive tones create a sense of openness, making it especially suited for bedrooms, reading nooks, or minimalist environments.

Formats: On metal, Archival Pigment Print on canvas or fine art paper with framing options

Limited Edition: 100
