Artist’s Statement:

Iris blooms come in many colors. Purple iris has long carried an association with respect and dignity—qualities not given, but earned. In this composition, three irises emerge from darkness with a calm, unforced presence. The black backdrop removes all sense of time and place, isolating the essential: texture, hue, and posture. Water droplets cling to the petals, not as ornament, but as evidence—of weather endured, of persistence made visible. There is no urgency here, no need to reach outward. Instead, the blooms hold their position with quiet assurance, allowing their form to speak without interruption. This image becomes less about the flower and more about what they stand for—deliberate, grounded, and unwavering.
