Artist’s Statement:

What was once designed for order now carries something far older. These Georgian forms—precise, measured, rational—have been absorbed by Dublin itself, reshaped into a rhythm that feels less constructed and more inherited. The arches no longer simply guide movement; they hold memory.

Each threshold becomes a keeper of stories, not as distant history, but as something still present, still breathing within the city’s fabric. The repetition creates a quiet disorientation. It may take a moment to realize that the doors extend forward, that what feels like a retreat into the past is, in fact, a movement toward the next chapter.

Rendered here in classic monchrome, the last door stands as both destination and continuation, a subtle reminder that time in this space is not linear. Instead, it folds inward, where past and present coexist—a living continuum, shaped by memory, the next step in.
