A fleeting moment interrupts a carefully composed frame—unplanned, unrepeatable, and all the more meaningful for it. Set against one of Dublin’s iconic doorways, a child passes through the scene, carrying with her a quiet sense of mystery and time.

Artist’s Statement:
The vibrant doors of Dublin have long been a compelling subject—each one a portrait of the city’s character, history, and individuality. This image, however, became something more. While composing a study of color and symmetry, a young girl ran through the frame, unaware and unconcerned, adding a human element that transformed the photograph entirely.
There is a quiet intrigue in her motion—caught mid-stride, heading somewhere with purpose known only to her. Time has passed since that moment; she's a young women now. The photograph holds suspended questions: where was she going, and who did she become?
This piece bridges the intentional and the accidental, where structure meets spontaneity. The bold blue door anchors the composition, while the child’s movement introduces life, narrative, and a sense of passing time that cannot be staged.
The colorful doors of Dublin are one of my favorite subjects. You'll see several of them around the gallery, and in collage format in the Gallery Gift Shop. The little girl who ran through the photoshoot, completely oblivious to my presence, makes this one a personal favorite.
