Before sight settles into understanding, there is a deeper moment—when the landscape begins to speak. In that quiet exchange, time is no longer distant; it is present, layered in stone and shadow, waiting to be heard.

Artist’s Statement:
This image moves beyond the first impact of scale and color into something deeper and more enduring. The illuminated cliffs draw the eye, but it is the winding path—the line tracing down to the canyon floor—that draws us.
The canyon carries the weight of time, shaped over millions of years, yet it does not impose. Instead, it offers. The forms, the light, the silence between them—these become a language. Listen—the voices of six million years are both humbling and reassuring.
We came to see, but we are made to listen. On the way down, and on the way back, it is us who are observed.
