A quiet lake becomes both window and mirror—an outward view of autumn’s brilliance and an inward path to reflection. From the shelter of the cabin, the world unfolds in color, while the still water gently turns the view inward.

Artist’s Statement:
From the porch of the cabin, the eye woiuld be drawn outward first—to the vivid blaze of autumn rising against the deep green forest, to the crisp edge of color that marks the turning of the season. It is a scene alive with presence, with change, the certainty everything changes.
Yet the water holds another invitation. In its stillness, the landscape is returned—softened, doubled, and made contemplative. What begins as observation becomes reflection in the truest sense. The same view that stretches outward also turns inward, asking for a different kind of attention.
The cabin isboth a window and mirror. It offers shelter, but also perspective—a place to witness the unfolding of the seasons while becoming aware of one’s own inner landscape. To sit there is to experience both directions at once: to look out and recognize change, and to look within and recognize ourselves.
