Title: Islands
Subtitle: Where sky and water dissolve into one, and islands wrestle with the pull to drift
Reference: lily pads reflection pond abstract sky water fine art nature photography serene minimalist contemplative
Artist’s Statement:
A small constellation of lily pads drifts across a mirrored surface where sky and water lose their boundaries. The eye searches for orientation—are we looking down into depths, or up into the sky? The ambiguity is vagely unsettling. The pads themselves, tethered yet floating, are safely moored in a world that feels otherwise untethered and infinite.
As an exploration of perception, this image oscillates between focus and depth, caught between the need to stay and the desire to explore. Between intimacy and expanse, clarity and dissolution, it is the persistent question—what will we choose in moments of uncertainty between the familiar and the unknown.
