Artist’s Statement
This landscape looks out from the slopes of the Devil’s Bit, a place rooted in Irish myth. Legend tells that the devil, in a rage, took a bite from the mountain—casting the missing piece across the land to form the Rock of Cashel. Whether believed or simply remembered, the story lingers here, embedded in the contours of the earth and the imagination of those who pass through.
Below, the countryside stretches outward in quilted geometry—fields divided by stone, softened by distance and light. The horizon fades into a distant haze, where history and myth blur. The tree stands alone, anchored in land shaped by both natural force and storytelling.
