Artist’s Statement:

A small congregation forms along the forest floor—wings folded, bodies still, attention turned downward. These Eastern Tiger Swallowtails have come not to display, but to draw sustenance from what is often overlooked: damp earth, mineral traces, the quiet residue of life. In contrast to their usual aerial grace, this grounded moment reveals a different kind of beauty—one rooted in necessity, in communion, in shared purpose. The low perspective brings us into their world, where meal time becomes a gathering, and the ordinary becomes essential.
